Private Lessons

Opie teaches lessons in her studio in Oakland, California. She works with beginning, intermediate and advanced students. All styles.

• Vocal technique
• Lyric interpretation and phrasing
• Repertoire building
• A capella singing and ear training

The studio has off-street parking and is located minutes from the Bay Bridge and highways 80, 880, 580, and 24. Lessons are typically 30 or 60 minutes long. Cost is on a sliding scale.

I love singing, and I love teaching singers.  The first time I traveled to Australia, I was invited to give a Vocal Master Class at Queensland Conservatory. That was followed by a master class given at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. They were both enormous successes and I had a ball.  To me, teaching young singers to hone their craft is inspiring. I have a degree in Voice from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and have been teaching privately for over 10 years.
